Pa Daly: I have a final question. I am unsure whether the Minister will have the detail. It relates to the hiring of non-sworn civilian staff. Extra provision was made in the budget for this. Does the Minister have any idea how many front-line gardaí will be released to other duties as a result?

We should analyse the risk of every activity to make sure that as many people as possible can earn a few quid in the run-up to Christmas.
