Hildegarde Naughton: Before 21 February 2022, a person aged 70 or over was required to submit a medical report when applying for a learner permit or driving licence. This has now been raised to 75. From 21 February, licence applications and renewals for people under 75 do not require a medical certificate, unless the applicant has a specified illness or other requirement to provide a certificate.
