Leo Varadkar: My predecessor approved the introduction of an annual national car test for vehicles of ten years of age or over in August 2009. This measure was introduced on foot of road safety concerns. The annual national car test is due to commence on 1st June of this year. I have no plans at this stage to review this matter.
