- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Leaving Certificate Reform: Discussion with School Management Bodies (28 Sep 2021)
Paul Kehoe: I was not aware of the University of Limerick, UL, carrying out that work. There might be merit in the committee inviting UL representatives in to see what lessons the university has learned from the reform, even though it has nothing to do with the leaving certificate, although, in a sense, it does. The two play into one another.
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Leaving Certificate Reform: Discussion with School Management Bodies (28 Sep 2021)
Paul Kehoe: I will come in on what Mr. Irwin said about the media and league tables of the third level colleges students go to. That frustrates me so much because it undervalues people and says they only did an apprenticeship and are only a plumber, painter, electrician or whatever. On occasions, these electricians and plumbers are making an awful lot more money than the guys who went to college for...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Education and Skills: Leaving Certificate Reform: Discussion with School Management Bodies (28 Sep 2021)
Paul Kehoe: I will ask Mr. Flood to conclude there. We will have guidance counsellors coming before the committee at a later date. I will finish with these questions. Does Mr. Curtis believe there is a willingness and an appetite for reform of the leaving certificate with the Minister for Education and within the Department of Education post Covid-19 and what we have learned from it? There is no...

- Saincheisteanna Tráthúla — Topical Issue Debate: Water Supply (22 Sep 2021)
Paul Kehoe: I welcome the Minister of State's response. The review that has been carried out must be published as soon as possible. The most important message that must go out from this Chamber today - I repeat the words of Irish Water and Wexford County Council in this regard - is that the water supply is safe to drink at this time. I become very concerned when Members of this House have personal...

Paul Kehoe: I have known Tom Enright, who is chief executive Wexford County Council, for many years. He is a fine public servant. I know that there has been a previous attack on their director of services, Tony Larkin, who is another fine public servant.

- Saincheisteanna Tráthúla — Topical Issue Debate: Water Supply (22 Sep 2021)
Paul Kehoe: I have one message. The Deputy opposite went over time. Fair is fair. I ask the Minister of State to indicate that the public water supply from the Creagh Plant to Gorey, County Wexford, is safe to drink. That is the most positive message. I do not want to echo the negativity of some Members of the House; I just want to make sure that the water is safe to drink.
- Saincheisteanna Tráthúla — Topical Issue Debate: Water Supply (22 Sep 2021)
Paul Kehoe: I thank the Leas-Cheann Comhairle for the opportunity to raise this important issue on behalf of the people of County Wexford. Last night, I met online with a number of people who have been affected by this issue. We are aware that more than 50 people have been affected by the Gorey outbreak. These are confirmed cases of illnesses associated with it. I ask the Minister of State to...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Impact of Peat Shortages on the Horticultural Industry: Minister of State at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (21 Sep 2021)
Paul Kehoe: I welcome the Minister of State and his officials. I do not want to repeat some of what the other speakers have stated but I fully concur with their thoughts on this issue. I know we are all very interested in the green agenda, but I can tell the Minister of State that it is getting a huge amount of negativity since we are not able to sort out what I believe is a small issue but a major...
