Seán Fleming: I welcome the opportunity to speak on the Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2005. My constituency of Laoighis-Offaly is not affected by the boundary changes dealt with in the legislation. The constituency is unique in that it has never been affected by a boundary change since the foundation of the State.

Seán Fleming: I refer not only to his time but to a period long before that. May the boundary of the constituency remain the same for many years after his time. It is a good recipe for stable Government and good representation.
