Jennifer Whitmore: I thank the Chairman and the witnesses. I thank the Chairman for allowing me to sit in on this very important and interesting discussion. Last week we had experts in who said that they were very concerned...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on European Union Affairs: Impact of the Comprehensive Trade and Economic Agreement on Irish-Canadian Trade and Relations: Discussion (13 Apr 2021)

Jennifer Whitmore: Absolutely. Mr. Collenette was clear on that. I am wondering whether any commitments were made during those meetings with Government officials or Ministers that were held late last year in the third and fourth quarters regarding CETA? I know his primary efforts were in respect of expediting the ratification of CETA. Was Mr. Collenette surprised at how quickly CETA came onto the Dáil...

Project Ireland 2040: Motion [Private Members] (1 Apr 2021)

Jennifer Whitmore: I thank the Rural Independent Group for bringing this motion. As we discuss Project Ireland 2040, it is important that we have a clear vision of what Ireland will look like in 20 years time. As we are all aware, the time goes quickly and we will get there a lot quicker than we think. Come 2040, we will only have ten years left to transition to a net zero-carbon economy. There are still a...
