The number was almost 8,000 people including, infamously, a 91 year old patient who spent 29 hours on a trolley....

Gerry Adams: The promised legislation on bankruptcy proposes to reduce the length of bankruptcy from three years to one year. It was handed over to the Joint Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality, which reported to the Minister at the beginning of July after unanimously agreeing that it should be reduced to one year. That is the last we have heard of it. It is still sitting on the Minister's desk....
