Mary Mitchell O'Connor: There has been attempted bullying and intimidation of this committee and the Minister with the threat of court. Tobacco companies should be told to stand back and lay off us. We will do what is important for people's health. We will do the legitimate and right thing. I do not want to receive any e-mails from tobacco companies.

Mary Mitchell O'Connor: I wish to ask about cigar smoking. I know we exempted it in the Public Health (Tobacco) Act 2002. My understanding is that the UK will exempt cigars as well. The problem might arise that one would have one law in Northern Ireland and a different one in the South. Cigar smoking is favoured more by middle aged men.
