Pat Deering: I have a couple of questions. Returning to the role of the watchdog, everybody accepts that the Irish Greyhound Owners and Breeders Federation is the watchdog. How many affiliated members are there and is there a cost of affiliation?

Pat Deering: There are a number of questions to be answered. With regard to asset disposal, we have heard much about Harold's Cross but I have not heard anybody refer to trying to eliminate the serious debt of €22.4 million, which is a substantial amount. I am at a loss to know why no one has come up with an alternative way to find funding or a suggestion as to how this issue will be resolved....

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Greyhound Racing Industry: Discussion (20 Oct 2015)

Pat Deering: We have heard a great deal of talk about the lack of communication and there is no doubt that it is a diverse group. Would it assist the engagement process if GOBAs throughout the country were part of a statutory...
