Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service: Motion [Private Members] (1 Feb 2022)

Imelda Munster: CAMHS and other mental health services in this State are so woefully underfunded that what happened in south Kerry should come as a shock to no-one. We spend 6% of our health budget on mental health. That is half the level recommended by the WHO. This needs to be increased as a matter of urgency. There are currently more than 3,000 young people awaiting appointments in a CAMHS psychiatry...

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: I will go back to the questions on next-generation ticketing. Am I right in stating that the authority could not give a date for when private operators on PSO routes would be able to provide the next-generation ticketing system for those aged between 19 and 23? Is it the case they will have to wait for the bus to be replaced or will the account-based ticketing system and technology be provided?

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: Right.

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: If the NTA deems that there is an insufficient number of passengers, is it the case that it is not going to bother with that particular company or whatever? I assume that is why the authority is looking at figures.

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: -----being an issue or an impediment, as such?

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: All right, so there would be a lift if the vehicle is not low-floor. Is that what Ms Graham is saying?

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: She is also saying that regional buses are 100% wheelchair-accessible.

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: There was an issue coming up quite often with the access via the lift. Customers were saying there was an issue. Either they were told they could not access the lift or that there was not a second person there and there were problems with that. Has the NTA managed to sort that out?

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: What percentage of that has the NTA achieved?

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: Why?

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: It is not really factually correct to say 100% of regional bus services are 100% wheelchair-accessible if there is an obvious issue with the lift-----

Public Accounts Committee: National Transport Authority: Financial Statements 2020 (27 Jan 2022)

Imelda Munster: -----and the bus stops. I mean the provision of wheelchair-accessible bus stops.
