- Order of Business (12 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: First, will the Taoiseach indicate if the Government has made a decision yet in respect of the naming of a date for the reform treaty referendum of the European Union? The Taoiseach is aware of my views on this matter that the sooner we fix a date, the easier it will be for parties for and against to put their plans in order. Has the Cabinet decided on a date and, if so, will the Taoiseach...
- Order of Business (12 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: It was not necessary in the case of the bail amendment. We did not have to have the heads of the Bill in that case.

- Order of Business (12 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: The Taoiseach might want to answer that question.

Enda Kenny: Question 23: To ask the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment if he or his Department has had discussions with the Department of Education and Science to ensure that there are sufficient FETAC accredited courses and training institutions available to employees of small to medium sized enterprises in order to access vital upskilling courses; and if he will make a statement on the...
- Order of Business (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: My giving the Minister credit has been justified because he gave very clear answers without giving very much information.
- Order of Business (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: Yesterday evening during Private Members' business, Deputy O'Mahony read an e-mail into the record while Deputy O'Dowd read a letter into the record. The Ceann Comhairle asked both who the letter and e-mail were from. During my time in the House, I have never heard any of his predecessors ask a Member who a letter he or she was referring to was from. Is this a new precedent?
- Order of Business (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: Perhaps it was the way they phrased their references.
- Killing of Paul Quinn: Statements (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: I wish to share time with Deputies Charles Flanagan and Dinny McGinley.
- Killing of Paul Quinn: Statements (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: I thank the Government for making time available for statements on the murder of Paul Quinn. I pay tribute to the Christian courage shown by Stephen and Briege Quinn since the loss of their son. I recently met Mr. and Mrs. Quinn in Castleblayney. Briege Quinn was the first person to say there should be no retaliation for the loss of her son because her wish was to see justice for...
- Order of Business (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: First, the country is in safe hands today. All the boys and girls are up in Dundalk. I remember with great clarity the day the former Progressive Democrats candidate handed in his letter of acceptance to Fianna Fáil and said "This is the happiest day of my life". Here he is in charge of the nation.
- Order of Business (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: Willie has other matters on his mind.
- Order of Business (7 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: While I have been giving out about his boss, I congratulate the Minister, Deputy Cullen, today on having the reins of power in the House of Parliament. We all know the country is in safe hands. As a former Minister for Transport, will he give the House an update on the position in so far as the roll-out of speed cameras is concerned under the appropriate legislation? I understand that the...

Enda Kenny: Question 163: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance the stockbroking firms engaged by his Department or by the agencies under his aegis during the years 1992, 1993 and 1994; the fees or charges paid in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3981/08]
- Leaders' Questions (6 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: I am glad to see the Taoiseach's annual mark is as clear as ever. Few things in life are more important to a family than the birth of a child. Few things cause people more confusion than to receive a determination of something that will place that child at a disadvantage. Probably nothing causes more anger and consternation in families than when the State fails in its duty to provide for...
- Leaders' Questions (6 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: I refer to the anger, frustration and consternation with which people are obliged to put up. When will the Taoiseach do something about this issue? Second, why is no appeals mechanism available to parents in respect of their children, thereby forcing them to go to the High Court? A total of 150 cases remain outstanding and an entire industry has been spawned by defending the State with...
- Leaders' Questions (6 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: I did not say the ABA system was the only method of providing education to autistic children. In recognising that extra moneys have been pumped into this sector, it seems that the failure of the Government to allow for an assessment system in the first place causes personal consternation and anger among parents of children with special educational needs, be it autism or another condition....
- Departmental Expenditure. (6 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: Question 1: To ask the Taoiseach if he will report on his Department's Estimate for 2008; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30765/07]
- Departmental Expenditure. (6 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: When can we expect to see the education patronage Bill? We face a new reality given that approximately 3,000 schools are under the patronage of the church. The Bill is not expected in 2008 but it is an important matter. Does the Taoiseach have any idea when we might see it? I think I am on the wrong line here because I should be asking the Taoiseach questions about his Estimate.
- Departmental Expenditure. (6 Feb 2008)
Enda Kenny: What is the ongoing function of the Ireland-Newfoundland partnership? How many times has it met? It was set up under the Taoiseach's predecessor, John Bruton. Is there a body in the Taoiseach's Department, or a group of public servants, which deal with this? Does it have ongoing contacts with its counterparts in Newfoundland?
