Catherine Connolly: My colleague went into the annualised hours system. A review was carried out in 2001 by the staffing and operations review team, SORT. It was recommended that another comprehensive review should take place. Why has this not taken place? It is now 16 years later.

Catherine Connolly: I read that and I accept the Prison Service is doing all of that. The Comptroller and Auditor General might come in later and comment on why he is asking the question. As I understand it from reading the document, the report was far more comprehensive, whereas the ongoing reports are targeted for savings in specific areas as opposed to an overall review.
