Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: I wished to know the number of files transferred from the Taoiseach's Department to the tribunals, but the Taoiseach has not confirmed this. He is reluctant to say whether the file on the purchase of the Battle of the Boyne site was requested. He did say that his Department co-operates fully in supplying the relevant information, which is gathered on a confidential basis, to the tribunals....

Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: It is, because the former Taoiseach would not answer the questions.

Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: Will the Ceann Comhairle come back to me?

Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: In his reply, the Taoiseach said the information in question was collected and forwarded to the tribunals on the basis of confidentiality and that it would not be appropriate to comment on that here. Answering questions on the Battle of the Boyne site on 1 May last year, his predecessor said he had made no recommendation to the Department of Foreign Affairs on the acquisition of the site....

Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: So was the question I asked.

Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: When I put questions to the Taoiseach's predecessor, he answered one of them and refused to answer any more. My questions to the Taoiseach are clear. If I put down questions about this site, will the Taoiseach answer them? Is the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Department of the Taoiseach in charge of this? I am entitled to ask him, as Taoiseach and leader of the country politically,...

Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: We will try and see.

Tribunals of Inquiry. (20 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: I have a further question for the Taoiseach.

Written Answers — Ambulance Service: Ambulance Service (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: Question 154: To ask the Minister for Health and Children the number of ambulances operating in the greater Dublin area; the number owned by the Health Service Executive; the number owned by Dublin fire brigade; the numbers in both categories in each of the years 2000 to date in 2008; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [18880/08]

[18907/08]

Written Answers — Physical Education Facilities: Physical Education Facilities (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: Question 220: To ask the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that his predecessor made a public commitment to the allocation of funding for a sports hall at a school (details supplied) in County Mayo; the reason this has not been honoured to date; when he will confirm that this project can proceed; and if he will make a statement on the matter....

Corporate Procurement Plans. (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: I thank the Taoiseach for that reply. I know from his previous experience that he sees the proposal has merit. It can be complex enough to put it into operation. Collaborative purchase agreements, known as electronic reverse auctions, are available through a central database and a network of procurement officers having specialist training for procurement officers. For example, many...

Independent Members. (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: Question 4: To ask the Taoiseach the arrangements in place in his Department for providing assistance to certain Independent Members of Dáil Éireann; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3564/08]

Independent Members. (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: It was not a very exhaustive reply. I note the Taoiseach now refers to the previous Taoiseach as his predecessor.

Independent Members. (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: I understand that. Those elected to the House will make a case for their constituencies. The agreements reached with the former Taoiseach, as leader of Fianna Fáil, amounted to millions for Kerry and international agreements with Deputy Finian McGrath range from Cuba to Burma, although I am not sure as they have not been published.

Independent Members. (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: Another Deputy said she had an arrangement with the former Taoiseach which was good for everybody but he confirmed there was no such agreement. The Taoiseach said it would not cost anything to keep the service between the Independent Members and the Government alive which is fair enough because there is a person liaising on that basis. However, does it mean that if an issue arises in the...

Independent Members. (14 May 2008)

Enda Kenny: I suppose the Taoiseach will not tell me what is in these deals, if anything. Is it a case of what Deputy Bertie Ahern said in that they are references to the programme for Government but that they apply to the individual constituencies? That is drawing a very fine line between saying they are not going to get anything very much and that there is a reference to the programme for Government....
