- Investment in Sport and Sporting Infrastructure: Statements (1 Oct 2025)
Joe Neville: We are talking about sports infrastructure. More than many, I, as a coach, and my children have benefited in recent years from different facilities we have been able to develop locally by means of the sports capital grants. As stated by previous speakers, these grants are a very efficient way of spending and receiving money. Who best to spend the money in local areas than people who run...
- Ceisteanna ar Pholasaí nó ar Reachtaíocht - Questions on Policy or Legislation (1 Oct 2025)
Joe Neville: The issue that I am raising here today relates to the Irish Stock Exchange and its importance to the success of Irish incorporated companies and, indeed, Irish investors. The decline of companies listed on the Irish Stock Exchange has been well reported, with a decline from up to 100 in 1999 to a current level of 24. This decline is in stark contrast to the growth in the wealth of the Irish...

- National Social Enterprise Policy: Statements (25 Sep 2025)
Joe Neville: Today, I want to talk about something that I firmly believe in and have worked in. I have seen the effort involved in our own communities. The Minister of State has been leading on this since taking up his position in recent months. I have met him a number of times in north Kildare and know that he has been all around the country because he believes in what he is doing. He believes in the...
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: School Meals Programme (25 Sep 2025)
Joe Neville: I thank the Minister for his response. I welcome the work that has been going into this and the efforts that this Government and the previous Government have made in putting forward the hot meals programme. Ultimately, it is there to provide meals to people who might not be in a situation to get them otherwise. This is definitely something we need to encourage. It is a great idea but we...

- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Pension Provisions (25 Sep 2025)
Joe Neville: I thank the Minister for his response. I am especially conscious of the words in the programme for Government whereby we will seek to examine the pension provision for foster carers to acknowledge their long-term commitment and ensure valued support after years of fostering. I am very conscious that 4,000 foster carers in Ireland provide a service which, as with services provided by other...

- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (25 Sep 2025)
Joe Neville: I thank Mr. Finnegan for all his efforts, the contribution he has made and even in my short time here the way he deals with us personally and his friendliness. He knew my name straight away and I assume everybody else probably says the same and wonders how he does that. He probably had our names from the start.
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (25 Sep 2025)
Joe Neville: It is those small personal touches from him. It is only a small thing, but at the same time they are the things that speak to us and to how he has handled his business, even before I was here. It is the measure of him, the role he has done and the effort he has made in that time to make this, as Deputy Dolan alluded to, a great place to work and for us to come into. I thank him for that.
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Houses of the Oireachtas Commission (25 Sep 2025)
Joe Neville: This issue has been covered by others, which is always the risk at the public accounts committee, but at the same time we have similar interests and similar things have been brought to our attention. On the broadcast service workers, I am conscious the officials cannot deal with the employees of Pi Comms directly, but I want to clarify some things. There is always that question about the...
