James Lawless: I thank Mr. Peelo. The committee has considered these points. In considering the judicial appointments Bill, for example, we have made recommendations on the diversity of the Bench and so forth. This goes some way, but not all the way, towards a greater understanding of the various ethnic minorities and diversity across the board.

James Lawless: I noted that in her opening statement, Ms Bayliss made reference to the lack of a prosecuting garda. I was not aware that was the case. As is the case for other bench warrants, I imagined there would be a prosecutor attached. That might be a recommendation from this hearing. There will be many recommendations but that may be one.
