Catherine Connolly: I asked about the Residential Institutions Statutory Fund Act 2012 last week, but I did not get an answer. I am raising it again now. This legislation provides for oversight over the board, which is no longer there, and over the CEO, who is now functioning without the oversight of a board. It seems to have been decided to use the dwindling fund to go into private property at a huge cost....

Catherine Connolly: To be clear, Caranua will enter into the contract and, therefore, it needs to be told this. The Minister needs to clarify whether he has given permission for this. We also need clarification from the OPW as to why Caranua has to move since the organisation is based in one of its buildings. There should be three letters.

Catherine Connolly: I agree that the witness should come in here. I expressed my concern about the meeting fitting with precedent and it was clarified that there was precedent. We did not decide that the meeting would be in private or public. The option was left open.
