- Quarterly Report on Housing: Statements (6 Jul 2017)
Ruth Coppinger: One would not know from looking at this Chamber that there is a housing emergency. Our group demanded a discussion on this issue in the Dáil, but it is a pedestrian enough affair. As I look around there is no sign of any urgency on the government benches. We have been joined by only one other Member from the Government side. I have seen depressing times in here but this takes the...

- Ceisteanna - Questions: Referendum Campaigns (4 Jul 2017)
Ruth Coppinger: I am glad that there is now a commitment to hold a referendum on the eighth amendment in 2018. The question is what kind of referendum it will be. I hope it will be one that respects the findings of the Citizens Assembly, which this Dáil established against the advice of many of us. It came up with a decision to trust women. I also hope that the Oireachtas Joint Committee on the...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government: Finance for Social Housing: Irish League of Credit Unions (4 Jul 2017)
Ruth Coppinger: I support the credit union concept and am a member of a credit union myself. Certainly, it is preferable to borrowing from banks. Ruth Coppinger: I thank the witnesses for their presentations. Speaking for myself and for a number of other representatives across the Oireachtas, some of us have an issue with this proliferation of approved housing bodies. What is their purpose? Ruth Coppinger: I know that we have to finish, but I wish to ask about the pyrite problem in housing owned by Respond! in Mulhuddart. The Pyrite Resolution Board copied Respond! in on its letter.
