Catherine Murphy: I seek the adjournment of the Dáil under Standing Order 31 to debate the undermining of local democracy. The Fianna Fáil and Labour Party members of Leixlip Town Council co-opted a Fianna Fáil member to fill the casual vacancy which arose following my election to the Dáil. Voters have clearly requested an independent mandate but this has not been respected.
