Martin Conway: I have no doubts about Dr. Aiken's sincerity. She states in her submission that she has been advising the UK Government on this matter and is proud of what is being achieved in that regard. Should we wait to see what the United Kingdom does and then seek to emulate it? Surely that would be the smart thing to do?

I am trying to engage in a debate and bring a little realism to it in order that we can formulate a European or international solution to what is a large, serious and threatening international problem.
