Bernard Durkan: The Bill is a timely reminder of some of the sadder episodes in medical history, some of which were referred to by the Minister of State. It is no harm to reflect on them now and hope the necessary remedial action has been taken. The episodes are a sufficient warning to us all to ensure we do not repeat them.
