Helen McEntee: I am advised by the Irish Prison Service that a snapshot analysis of the prison population is conducted on the last day of each month. The most recent analysis was conducted on 31 October 2024. I can advise the Deputy that on 31 October 2024, there were 97 individuals over the age of 70 in custody across the prison estate.
