- Seanad: Intellectual Property (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2014: Second Stage (9 Dec 2014)
Diarmuid Wilson: It is quite obvious.
- Seanad: Order of Business (9 Dec 2014)
Diarmuid Wilson: I second Senator Mooney's amendment to the Order of Business. As colleagues are aware, last summer over €1 million was raised for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association through the ice bucket challenge and tens of millions of dollars were raised throughout the world in less than a year for the motor neurone disease cause. As colleagues are aware, motor neurone disease is the name...

- Seanad: Order of Business (4 Dec 2014)
Diarmuid Wilson: I was present, like others, for the two-hour debate yesterday evening with the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government and his Minister of State. Excellent suggestions were made on all sides of the House. Diarmuid Wilson: I welcome the Minister of State, Deputy Coffey, to the House and I also thank the Minister, Deputy Kelly, who was here before him for his contribution. I also welcome those who work on the front line of this crisis who are in the Visitors Gallery who know at first hand exactly what type of crisis we have on our streets.
- Seanad: Homelessness: Statements (3 Dec 2014)
Diarmuid Wilson: We are here this evening because of Jonathan Corrie. We are not here because he died but because of where he died, which was fewer than 50 m from the gates of the building in which we are having this debate. I hope, like everybody who made a contribution, that some good comes out of this unfortunate man's early demise. People find themselves homeless for very many reasons, whether it be...
- Seanad: Homelessness: Statements (3 Dec 2014)
Diarmuid Wilson: There is an onus upon us to do that and to do it on a monthly basis until we have some type of a satisfactory outcome. I wish the Minister of State and his colleague, the Minister, Deputy Kelly, well. It is not easy. If it was easy, it would have been addressed a long time ago. The cynics say the homeless do not vote and therefore they are not a priority. Let us prove them wrong.
- Seanad: Action Plan for Jobs 2014: Statements (3 Dec 2014)
Diarmuid Wilson: For the information of colleagues, according to the Order of the House, I have to call the Minister to reply at 1.10 p.m. Unless the Acting Leader agrees to extend the time, not everybody will have an opportunity to speak. I have three people offering and I would like to facilitate them but I would have to get an extension.

- Seanad: Order of Business (2 Dec 2014)
Diarmuid Wilson: I join other Senators in extending sympathy to the family of Mr. Corrie. If he had not died where he did, there would not be a word about him. That is the reality. I have been a Member of this House since 2002 and homelessness has been discussed since I first joined, with periodic mentions since then. The facilities do not exist that can give a bed to everybody who needs it but not...
