Paschal Donohoe: Up to 31 October 2015 airlines from the United States made 252 requests to my Department for permits to transport munitions through Shannon Airport under the Air Navigation and Transport Act (Carriage of Munitions of War, Weapons and Dangerous Goods) Order 1973. In all cases these requests related to the unloaded personal weapons of the troops on board the aircraft.
