The delegates are the voice now for so many people. There may not be that many people in their organisation, but there are other people out there. They are the voice for those people. I urge them to try...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality: Experience of Persons of Mixed Race in State Institutions: Mixed Race Irish (22 Oct 2014)

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality: Experience of Persons of Mixed Race in State Institutions: Mixed Race Irish (22 Oct 2014)

Anne Ferris: Thank you, Evon. I know that you got upset. I get quite upset when I listen to these stories and can empathise with you. Believe me, you are three very strong women. I have my own issues about identity. At the same time, it never holds one back but makes one stronger and more determined. It is important to get this story out to address the injustice done. I know that the group has...

Direct Provision for Asylum Seekers: Motion (Resumed) [Private Members] (1 Oct 2014)

Anne Ferris: There is a story we have all heard before. It is about a little blonde boy with no name, although in some stories he is referred to as Peter and in others he is called Hans. The little boy lived in The Netherlands where, as we know, the land is permanently under sea level and is spared flooding only by an elaborate series of dams or dykes. The little boy, we are told, was walking home from...
