Eamon Gilmore: The Embassy to Italy incurred totally expenditure of €1,568,066 in the last full year (2011) prior to transfer to Villa Spada. Following the closure of the Embassy to the Holy See in November 2011, the Embassy to Italy and the residence of the Ambassador to Italy were relocated to the State owned Villa Spada, formerly occupied by the Embassy to the Holy See.

Eamon Gilmore: We did not. Stick with the truth. Why does Deputy McDonald have such a difficulty with the truth? The reason we are dealing with these salaries for these agencies is that the Government decided in pursuit of its public pay policy to conduct an audit of the agencies and to pursue it through the HSE. That is what is being done.
