Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: South Kerry Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services: HSE (2 Mar 2022)

Seán Crowe: It is important they know what they are doing, particularly in the case of a doctor. Is the system that is used to check the prescribing of medications the same system that is used State-wide in CAMHS? How does the system cope? We have mentioned the levels of under-staffing commonly experienced in CAMHS. I return to my concern that it is not only a challenge for this area. When there...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: South Kerry Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services: HSE (2 Mar 2022)

Seán Crowe: I am not trying to undermine confidence in the services. There is vital work going on daily. Seán Crowe: The other question that was raised is the doctor in question was recommended for other posts in 2020. I suppose people will have difficulties in trying to understand that. I particularly thank...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: General Scheme of the Public Health (Tobacco and Nicotine Inhaling Products) Bill: Discussion (Resumed) (1 Mar 2022)

Seán Crowe: I refer to an area on which we have not touched. There is general consensus among most of the groups which come before us that there should not be access for young people aged under 18. One of the difficulties is that many of the products are bought online. Mr. Dunne or Mr. O'Boyle said they are looking at other jurisdictions. Do they have any recommendations in that regard? At the...
