Steven Matthews: On that, I want to try to steer us away from opinions printed in newspapers and for us to stick to a back-and-forth on the amendments. There was good engagement throughout the pre-legislative scrutiny sessions and outside of them as well, as I am sure all members met the IPI.

Steven Matthews: Sure. My point is just that we had the Irish Planning Institute before the committee many times. I have listened to its representatives and I will respect their views.

Steven Matthews: I just do not want the debate on Committee Stage to deviate into opinions expressed in the papers because there are a lot of opinions expressed on planning by a lot of people. If we can stick to this, I would appreciate it.
