Terry Brennan: I certainly am and it will be a worthwhile one because it is a worthwhile and very successful story. I acknowledge the role played by the tourism industry in our economic recovery. No doubt the initiatives by the Government such as reducing airport tax to zero and the 9% VAT rate were major contributors to this.

- Seanad: Establishment of Electoral Commission: Motion (4 Mar 2015)
Terry Brennan: I do not want to be political but I have questions for Senator MacSharry who unfortunately is not here to answer them. The previous Government published a report in 2007-8 and nothing was done about it. Senator MacSharry was a bit harsh and hard on the Minister who is trying his utmost. He is a doer. He will ensure an electoral commission is established as soon as reasonably possible....

Is onóir iontach é d'fhear a d'oibrigh go dian dá cheantar agus don chumann luthchleas gael. Is onóir iontach ar fad é dá chlann uilig. Ba chúis...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Energy Prices: Discussion (25 Feb 2015)
Terry Brennan: I apologise for being late and missing the presentations. I must declare I was employed by the ESB for quite a while. I am glad to hear that sympathy, concern and every opportunity is given to the consumer in the case of disconnections. I am glad that this is still continuing and I hope it will continue that way. It is as a last resort that consumers are disconnected. For my...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Energy Prices: Discussion (25 Feb 2015)
Terry Brennan: One should not mind the grey hair. It was grey when I went into the ESB. I have just one question. Perhaps it was addressed in their submissions. Often I am told Ireland is one of the dearest countries in Europe and growing more expensive for both domestic and commercial electricity. How do we compare with Northern Ireland, Great Britain and continental Europe? Are we first, as in the...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications: Energy Prices: Discussion (25 Feb 2015)
Terry Brennan: I am thinking of people who would not use the website. If one changes provider, is one compelled to enter a contract for a fixed period, such as six months, one year or two years before one can revert to the previous provider?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Environment, Culture and the Gaeltacht: Rural Communities: Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government (24 Feb 2015)
Terry Brennan: I also congratulate the Minister of State, who has worked hard on this committee for quite a while. I agree fully with her that these issues will take time to address. Communities themselves know the issues and what they want in their communities, no matter what part of Ireland one goes to. Most of them are prepared to play their part, and will play a part, to develop their communities....
- Seanad: Order of Business (19 Feb 2015)
Terry Brennan: I support my colleagues who commended the Garda and the PSNI on recapturing the criminal in Belfast. It is to be hoped he will not be maintained in this country at the taxpayers' expense. I hope he is sent back to where he belongs and serves his sentence. We have called for a debate with the Minister for Justice and Equality. There were two robberies in my locality in the past four or...
- Seanad: Order of Business (19 Feb 2015)
Terry Brennan: I am calling for a debate to alert people to the dangers. These things are happening in many counties throughout the country. We cannot expect gardaí to police every house in the country. I do not know whether one should keep a dog, but if the dog bit any of these people they could make a claim.
