- Departmental Bodies. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: What will the Government do about it?
- Order of Business. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: Given the report on the Corrib gas pipeline has been published, does the Government intend setting time aside for a debate on the issue? On promised legislation, the control of exports Bill does not seem to have a publication date. Has the Government in mind the Amnesty International report on Irish manufactured military and security equipment and components in this regard? This area does not...
- Order of Business. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: The control of exports Bill will deal with the matter. I would like to know if it is forthcoming.
- Order of Business. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: Will the Bill include military equipment?

Trevor Sargent: Question 5: To ask the Taoiseach if he will report on the progress of the cross-departmental team on housing, infrastructure and public private partnerships; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16183/06]
- Departmental Bodies. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: When I tabled a question on the cross-departmental team on housing, infrastructure and public private partnerships, I was thinking about the report of the National Economic and Social Council, Housing in Ireland, Performance and Policy, which recommended in 2004 an additional 73,000 social housing units to be produced between 2007 and 2012, roughly 10,000 a year. Will the Taoiseach...
- Departmental Bodies. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: The cross-departmental team will have a strong influence on that decision.
- Departmental Bodies. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: I also asked about renewable energy infrastructure. Is the Taoiseach embarrassed that the European Union has decided to prosecute the Government for its failure to implement a renewable energy strategy? It must be acknowledged that as a State we have not delivered on our potential in this area. The most damning evidence is that Dr. James Wickham, director of the employment research centre at...
- Departmental Bodies. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: It will require more than the Minister for Transport because the Minister for Finance, sitting beside the Taoiseach, has a lot to do with it.
- Departmental Bodies. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: The team we are asking about must provide a more integrated, holistic approach than the Government has been able to provide. Will the political inertia mentioned by Dr. Wickham be shifted?
- Departmental Bodies. (3 May 2006)
Trevor Sargent: We would build them if we were in Government.
- Written Answers — Anti-Social Behaviour Orders: Anti-Social Behaviour Orders (27 Apr 2006)
Trevor Sargent: Question 38: To ask the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his attention has been drawn to recent concerns voiced by the chief executive of Barnardos UK with regard to the routine use of anti-social behaviour orders in the United Kingdom (details supplied); the assurances he will provide that anti-social behaviour orders will be used as a measure of last resort if introduced...

- Order of Business. (27 Apr 2006)
Trevor Sargent: It is hardly worth making a major issue out of losing one day. However, with 62 Bills promised for 2007, I take it that this indicates we will have a shorter summer recess and therefore we will not oppose this proposal.
- Order of Business. (27 Apr 2006)
Trevor Sargent: I wish to ask about the Government's promised legislation on disabilities. The Disability Act, the Education for Persons with Special Educational Needs Act and the Comhairle (Amendment) Bill were intended to all go together in implementing the Government programme in that area. The Comhairle (Amendment) Bill is in abeyance. Will it be taken before the summer recess, given that we have had an...
- Order of Business. (27 Apr 2006)
Trevor Sargent: The Government needs to tell us where it stands because it cannot appoint a chairperson before the legislation has been passed. I expected to see a date for the animal health Bill, given the bird flu threat that exists, yet UK doctors have attacked the Irish bird flu plan because no public health observer has attended a recent exercise on the Border with Northern Ireland.
- Order of Business. (27 Apr 2006)
Trevor Sargent: Is there any date for the animal health Bill or is there any seriousness about addressing the threats which face this country and our EU partners as well?
- Order of Business. (27 Apr 2006)
Trevor Sargent: Will it be taken before the summer?
- Order of Business. (27 Apr 2006)
Trevor Sargent: What is the point of it?
