Order of Business (12 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: No. 76 on the legislative list is the Red Cross (amendment) Bill. Recent media reports on the resignation of the secretary general and the heads of finance and communications of the Irish Red Cross, which would indicate there is something going on within that particular organisation, suggest the need for some urgency in respect of the introduction of that legislation. Some weeks ago, the...

Order of Business (12 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: Hear, hear.

Written Answers — Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Employment Rights (12 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: 125. To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation if he will request the National Employment Rights Authority to investigate the position of two company employees (details supplied) who have been owed wages by their employer since 2010; if it is considered that one employee has been constructively dismissed; if it is considered the other employee, who is on sick pay, is ill due to...

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: 181. To ask the Minister for Health if he will provide, in tabular form, by county, the instance of a disease (details supplied), for each of the past ten years; if there are any discernible trends in respect of the disease, that would give rise to concerns; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Pre-European Council Meeting: Statements (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: Tá áthas orm an deis a fháil cúpla focal a rá ar an ábhar tábhactach seo agus sin cruinniú Chomhairle na hEorpa i mí an Mhárta. Is oth liom a rá go bhfuil sé ag tarlú le déanaí nach bhfuil ráitis den chineál seo á dhéanamh roimh nó i ndiaidh cruinnithe den Chomhairle. Ní maith liom go...

Order of Business (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: Tá dhá cheist agam don Taoiseach. In ainneoin go bhfuil ceannaireacht léirithe aige le linn Ceisteanna na gCeannairí, níl mórán ar an gclár Rialtais i dtaobh na Gaeilge. Is é ceann de na gnéithe atá luaite ann ná go bhfuil an Rialtas chun athbhreithniú a dhéanamh ar an nGaeilge mar ábhar don ardteistiméireacht....

Leaders' Questions (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: Baineann an cheist atá agam don Taoiseach inniu le cúrsaí fostaíochta. Is léir go bhfuil líon na ndaoine atá dífostaithe sa tír faoi láthair ag laghdú. Fáiltímid ar fad roimhe sin. Is léir freisin go bhfuil líon na ndaoine atá fostaithe ag ardú, go háirithe anseo sa chathair seo agus sna contaetha...

Leaders' Questions (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: Ní dóigh liom go mbeidh na daoine atá ag obair sa chomhlacht atá luaite againn róshásta leis an bhfreagra a thug an Taoiseach dúinn. The issue for Dunnes Stores' workers is not just about pay. It is also about their working conditions and the hours available to them in any given week. It is about being able to build a life for themselves and their...

Ceisteanna - Questions - Priority Questions: Heritage Schemes (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: 1. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if a built heritage jobs leverage scheme will operate in 2015; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10554/15]

Ceisteanna - Questions - Priority Questions: Heritage Schemes (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: This question relates to the built heritage jobs leverage scheme. It was one of the good ideas initiated by the last Government, a Government which was perhaps not awash with good ideas. The €5 million put up by the Government secured private investment of €10 million for 540 projects across the country, employing 175 people. What are the prospects for this scheme in 2015?

Ceisteanna - Questions - Priority Questions: Heritage Schemes (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: Implicit in the answer is that there will be no scheme in 2015, which is very regrettable and represents a failure on the part of the Minister's Department. I urge the Minister to go back to the Minister for Public Expenditure on Reform to secure the funding involved. As she quite rightly said, a fairly small figure of €5 million unleashed €10 million in private investment,...

Ceisteanna - Questions - Priority Questions: Heritage Schemes (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: We are told the economy is improving and now is the time to secure multi-annual funding. The Minister would have the support of everyone on this side of House in going back to the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to demand this money. The money about which were talking, in terms of public investment, is very small but the money it can leverage from the private sector is very...

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: 16. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht when the detailed programme of commemorations for 1916 will be published; her plans to increase allocations to local authorities, to mark the occasion; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10197/15]

Written Answers — Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht: Wildlife Protection (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: 39. To ask the Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht if she will publish the criteria for the selection of future Cities of Culture, to ensure a fair process, for all; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10194/15]

Written Answers — Department of Social Protection: Domiciliary Care Allowance Applications (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: 47. To ask the Minister for Social Protection if she will expedite approval for a domiciliary care allowance, in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; the dates on which the allowance will be paid; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [10690/15]

Written Answers — Department of Education and Skills: School Accommodation (11 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: 129. To ask the Minister for Education and Skills if her Department has completed its analysis of the demographic trends in the catchment area of a school ( details supplied) in County Kildare; if that analysis supports the strong contention that additional second level places will need to be provided; if consideration is being given to an application by the school for additional classroom...

Order of Business (10 Mar 2015)

Seán Ó Fearghaíl: This is National Brain Awareness Week. The Taoiseach is probably conscious of that. In the context of the health information Bill, I wish to ask the Taoiseach about the neurological charities. This time last year their funding was to be cut. The Minister, Deputy Kelly, then announced an extension, saying they were to have funding up to the middle of this year.
