Urban Regeneration and Housing (Amendment) Bill 2018: Second Stage [Private Members] (3 Jul 2018)

Tommy Broughan: We learned during statements on child homelessness last week that almost 10,000 people, including some 4,000 children, were homeless in May 2018. Members are aware that that is the tip of the iceberg because the number of hidden homeless is not recorded. I have repeatedly highlighted the situation in that regard in Dublin Bay North, the worst-affected constituency in Ireland. The suffering...

Tommy Broughan: Is Mr. Goodwin saying that the Euro 6 standard does not have particulate emissions?

Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Environmental Impact of Fiscal Instruments: Discussion (Resumed) (3 Jul 2018)

Tommy Broughan: Mr. Goodwin knows they are carcinogens. We all knew in 2008 and we knew in 1998. Volvo, Saab and a few other companies tried to move away from diesel at the time when we were moving into it. They will still be emitting carcinogen particulates.

Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Environmental Impact of Fiscal Instruments: Discussion (Resumed) (3 Jul 2018)

Tommy Broughan: Many of the questions I intended to ask have already been asked. Committee on Budgetary Oversight: Priorities for Budget 2019: Discussion (3 Jul 2018)

Tommy Broughan: I welcome the delegates and thank them for their thought provoking presentation. A few members probably agree with IBEC about the rainy day fund.
