Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Engagement with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (10 May 2023)

Louise O'Reilly: I wish to ask a very brief question on the proposed corporate sustainability due diligence directive, CSDDD. Louise O'Reilly: I welcome what the Minister has said about prices. When Government representatives make comparisons with consumer prices in the rest of Europe, it drives people up the wall. They are doing their shopping in their local area, not in France or anywhere else. I welcome what he said about getting prices down in a way that is not at the expense of primary producers. We will all be watching...

Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Engagement with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (10 May 2023)

Louise O'Reilly: I appreciate that, but I did not want to let the point go because it is something that really frustrates people. Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation: Engagement with the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (10 May 2023)

Louise O'Reilly: It is important that we get this right and use whatever influence we have to ensure this directive is as strong as it can possibly be. To hop neatly from one thing to another, the Minister has referred several times to the advice from the CCPC. Can he share it with us if it is not published? If it is published, I apologise, because I have not seen it. I know the Minister only has a few...
