Michael Fitzmaurice: I am familiar with the designation and the consent to which Mr. Morrison referred. The problem is that it is the NPWS that needs to come to the table here to facilitate those farmers. I fully understand that the Department must go by the rules and regulations, but there is a problem in that regard that the NPWS will have to address.

Michael Fitzmaurice: A lot of breeding birds use trees to nest. I have talked to people, including people in the National Parks and Wildlife Service, NPWS, about this idea of blocking certain activities. It flies in the face of what we are about with breeding to stop people from sowing hedgerows. Those two aspects need to be teased out for phase 2.
