Catherine Murphy: When a new swimming pool is being sought, one of the issues that local authorities concern themselves with, understandably, is that the amount of matching can be quite large relative to the cost of a new build. The aim was to have one swimming pool for every 50,000 people and there are a small number of gaps nationally, and my constituency happens to be one of them.
