Róisín Shortall: However, we have this conflict where there is a very high demand for services. Much of that is historical because of the underfunding, historically, of the health service and then there were the additional pressures from Covid. There is the growing population and the ageing population. We heard from Mr. Gloster that 70,000 additional procedures were carried out.
