- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Health Services (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: I thank the Minister. I really appreciate her focus on this and as I said, women are so impressed that they now feel heard having literally been told that it is all in their heads for so long. In terms of public awareness, sometimes women, particularly younger girls and women, do not necessarily know what to be looking out for when they are talking about endometriosis. This is particularly...

- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Health Services (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: Endometriosis is one of the most common women's health issues. Far too many women, including women among my family and friends, often endure chronic pain, fatigue, fertility issues and emotional distress. They often miss time at work and in education. They miss out on life generally. The average diagnostic delay is nine years. I know this is an area on which the Minister is focused. I...
- Ceisteanna Eile - Other Questions: Health Services (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: I thank the Minister for that comprehensive update. I mentioned the nine-year average diagnostic delay. Women have felt ghosted by their GPs. They feel like they have not been offered supports and have not been listened to. It seems that women are expected to put up with this intolerable, intense and chronic pain, and are essentially made to feel as if it is all in their heads. It is...
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: As I said at the children's committee, I do not underestimate the burden that all those in Tusla have. I really do thank them for all the very good work it does. Obviously, it is dealing with the most vulnerable children in our society. We would not be doing our jobs if we did not robustly hold the witnesses to account and make sure things are working between them and the Department. We...
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: It was reported in The Irish Times about very at-risk children who secure accommodation. There were a couple of reports a couple of months ago in the papers about contentious correspondence between Ms Duggan and the Department.
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: I appreciate that. The Department really does need to work in a very supportive and collaborative way with Tusla. The burden of the work Tusla has unbelievably broad. The children it deals with are at risk and very vulnerable and it is very important that the Department and the State agency tasked with this very serious responsibility work in concert. A large number of data breaches have...

- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: For example, an alleged abuser is emailed information notifying them of the location of the women and children, what steps are taken to make sure those women and children are protected?
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: How long did that take? As in, for what period of time did the abuser know the location of the woman and children?
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: In the case of something like that there should be a process to move the woman and children within 24 hours.
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: No matter where they are, if the abuser knows where they are ,they are in imminent danger from the minute the abuser gets that information. They could be there within 60 minutes. It is essential that there is a proper process.
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: Can Ms Duggan write to us and let us know when there is a process in place?
- Public Accounts Committee: Financial Statements 2024: Tusla - the Child and Family Agency (2 Oct 2025)
- Grace Boland: I urge her to expedite such a process. We do not want to see somebody seriously injured or killed as a result of a breach of data by Tusla, one of our State agencies. I will ask about the State Claims Agency. A huge volume of claims being managed by the agency. The C and AG said there is a value of approximately €71 million-----
