Charles Flanagan: I thank Deputy Brady. The ambassador dealt with the latter issue in the context of an earlier question from Deputy Clarke. I understand that the Deputy was otherwise engaged. Charles Flanagan: In terms of the work of this committee, prior to this there was an EU affairs subcommittee of this committee. I know that there is a stand-alone Joint Committee on European Union Affairs but there is ample precedent for us to deal with this issue, which would be external to the EU in any event as Singapore is a third country.
