- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Persecution of Christians: Discussion (13 May 2015)

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Deaths of Irish Citizens in Berkeley: Expressions of Sympathy (17 Jun 2015)
Ruairi Quinn: A significant number are from UCD. Part and parcel of living on an island off an island off the west coast of Europe is that, in order to gain an understanding of the rest of the world, one needs to travel. The J1 visa and the concentration of UCD students in Berkeley comprise a very constructive semi-sheltered way of embarking on that kind of journey. Not only should we express our...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Deaths of Irish Citizens in Tunisia: Expressions of Sympathy. (1 Jul 2015)
Ruairi Quinn: I thank the Chairman. Like everyone else in this room the horror of what happened in Tunisia brings home to us in a very graphic way the horror that is happening every day in that part of the world. Some lessons have to be learned from the triumphalism of the West, which thought it could rush in with a ballot paper and a 300-year history of democracy, with all its faults, and impose it on...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Amnesty International Annual Report 2014 (1 Jul 2015)
Ruairi Quinn: Mr. O'Gorman said that "the world's politicians have miserably failed to protect those in greatest need". - Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Amnesty International Annual Report 2014 (1 Jul 2015)
Ruairi Quinn: I disagree with what Mr. O'Gorman has just said. The very tone of Mr. O'Gorman's entire reference to politicians is denigratory and makes no distinction between elected politicians in a democratic society, either in opposition or independent, and those who are self-appointed. I believe Mr. O'Gorman has a problem with his language.

Ruairi Quinn: Why not have a bit of positivity? This country is immeasurably better for a bit of political action in the last year in relation to one thing. Why not put it in a positive context; all politicians and all governments must do more to achieve the objectives of Amnesty International?
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Foreign Affairs and Trade: Amnesty International Annual Report 2014 (1 Jul 2015)
