Róisín Shortall: It is no surprise that the rate of Omicron has doubled in the last two days, meaning it will become the dominant variant by the weekend. There is a real urgency about getting the boosters out. On Tuesday, I called for the age restrictions to be lifted for boosters. It seemed like that was going to be done yesterday. An announcement was made that there would be no age restrictions applying...

Róisín Shortall: Okay. They are currently dealing with complaints from the public about the news that went out. There is a need for clarification on this. There is no justification for making a distinction between what GPs can do and what pharmacists can do. This needs to be addressed urgently. These are, of course, the Johnson & Johnson people in the main, who are now highly susceptible because...

Róisín Shortall: I did not realise I was next. I would like to welcome the guests and thank them for their presentations. I wanted to check something first. I just want to ask about that €500,000 that Ms Hill spoke about. Is she seriously saying that figure is to be spread between all of the task forces? It seems incredible. The other aspect of that, as I understand it, is that the figure is to be also shared...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health: Review of Scope and Structure of Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Act: Engagement with Minister for Health (8 Dec 2021)
Róisín Shortall: I ask the Minister to provide us with the criteria that would apply to the chair and details of the selection panel. I ask that he would provide the committee with that information as soon as possible.
