Charles Flanagan: I merely wish to acknowledge the support of Senators for this important amendment. We have had something between 99 and 125 hours of debate and I do not think anyone would dispute it if we call it 110 hours of debate.

Charles Flanagan: The position is that, with effect from 3 February 2014, the monetary jurisdiction of the Circuit Court increased to €75,000 (€60,000 for personal injury cases) under Part 3 of the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2013. While I have no immediate plans to increase the monetary limits of the Circuit Court, the matter will be kept under review by my Department.
