Aengus Ó Snodaigh: I am explaining why I want this to be a core value and that the work already being done in some communities indicates the benefits of the Garda providing positive leadership. The examples I have given illustrate the reasoning behind my amendment. Two gardaí spent an hour and a half at the residents' association meeting in Chapelizod to which I referred. They are to be commended on that.
