It also affects the constituencies of my colleagues, Deputies MacSharry and Rabbitte, with whom I am sharing time. I welcome the Bill but am unhappy with its implications for my constituency. - Questions on Promised Legislation (13 Dec 2017)
Eugene Murphy: I wish to bring the Taoiseach back to the programme for Government, specifically the strong emphasis it puts on balanced regional development. I know he has spoken to me before about this previously. Recent Central Statistics Office figures show that 700 people living in County Roscommon must get on a train or a bus or into a car every day and travel to Dublin for work. Imagine if the...
- Questions on Promised Legislation (13 Dec 2017)
Eugene Murphy: I refer to the programme for Government. In fairness, I do not break the rules. This is in the programme for Government. - Questions on Promised Legislation (14 Dec 2017)
Eugene Murphy: I am referring to the Minister for Education and Skills, Deputy Bruton. He lives in the city. I live in rural Ireland where people do not have the service. People are moving their businesses from rural Ireland to the towns. It is not a laughing matter. I am aware that the Minister, Deputy Bruton, was opposed to decentralisation and everything else, so he does not have much time for rural...
