Other Questions: Tax Reliefs Application (24 Oct 2017)

Bríd Smith: I have already asked this question of the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation but I have never been able to get a full answer. I want to pre-empt the question by saying I fully support the arts industry and the attempt to increase the production of film and create jobs. However, there is a problem with what is known as...

Other Questions: Tax Reliefs Application (24 Oct 2017)

Bríd Smith: I want to ask about oversight of this tax break. Other Questions: Tax Reliefs Application (24 Oct 2017)

Bríd Smith: That all sounds very good but the reality is that some €7 billion has been given to the industry in the past 15 years in tax breaks, which is very generous. Select Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government: Water Services Bill 2017: Committee Stage (25 Oct 2017)

Bríd Smith: I wish to speak to amendment No. 14, which calls for the deletion of the section. I support what has already been said by some of the other members. The problem is that we are defining wastage as normal household use where there are more people living in the house. That strikes me as the essence of what is being said.
