Written Answers — Údarás na Gaeltachta: Údarás na Gaeltachta (27 Sep 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: Tógfaidh mé Ceisteanna Uimhreacha 1145 go 1149, san áireamh, lechéile. Ba mar thoradh ar cheist ó iriseoir chuig mo Roinnse ar 22 Meán Fómhair 2006 maidir leis an gcomhaontú atá luaite ag an Teachta a d'iarr agus a fuair mo Roinn nóta eolais i leith an cháis ó Údarás na Gaeltachta. Written Answers — Teanga Ghaeilge: Teanga Ghaeilge (28 Sep 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: Tá sé i gceist agam dréacht de na Rialacháin seo a leagan faoi bhráid gach Tí den Oireachtas go han-luath chun deis a thabhairt do Theachtaí agus Seanadóirí iad a phlé agus leasuithe a mholadh, más mian leo, sula ndéanfaidh mé iad a shiniú. Ní miste dom a chur in iúl don Teachta, áfach, nach dtagann foirmeacha faoi scáth alt 9(1) den Acht. Is amhlaidh go bhfuil soláthar...

Éamon Ó Cuív: The payment that participants on the Rural Social Scheme (RSS) receive is regarded as income. The rate of payment is determined by the participant's personal/family circumstances and is based on their qualifying payment from the Department of Social & Family Affairs at the time of joining the Scheme and an appropriate top-up payment from the RSS. The manner in which this income is treated...

Written Answers — Calafoirt agus Céanna: Calafoirt agus Céanna (3 Oct 2006)

Moladh dhá rogha sa tuarascáil sin, i.e., síneadh 30m a chur leis an gcé atá ann faoi láthair ar chostas €1.5m, nó síneadh 65m a chur léi ar chostas €3m. Dheimhnigh an tuarascáil chomh maith gur...

Community Development. (5 Oct 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: I am very pleased to inform the House that Comhairle na Tuaithe has completed its work on the development of a national countryside recreation strategy. Its report was presented to me in September. Comhairle na Tuaithe comprises representatives of State bodies with an interest in the countryside, the farming organisations and recreational users of the countryside and is chaired by my...

Community Development. (5 Oct 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: I wish to clarify that the legal issues were raised by the ICMSA and by Keep Ireland Open. They were agreeable to the proposition that these would be examined by either the Attorney General or the Law Reform Commission. An expert group involving the various offices is regarded as the best method. The IFA did not raise legal issues. I note there is no fundamental difference between my...

Community Development. (5 Oct 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: Last Friday I had a very constructive meeting with representatives of the South Kerry Partnership who had some very good ideas. All the time we are trying to move forward. We are not wedded to the belief that this is the only proposal. We are considering creative ways to address the issues. However, from a psychological point of view I am not keen on charging people to climb mountains...

Departmental Bodies. (5 Oct 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: I certainly will if the Deputy says there are issues to be addressed. I have no recollection of receiving any communication on whatever happened at the meeting in Donegal, which of course I did not attend. I did not attend any Údarás na Gaeltachta board meeting in Donegal.

Departmental Bodies. (5 Oct 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: I cannot remember any appointment or decision having been made at the launch.

Departmental Bodies. (5 Oct 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: There could have been, I cannot recollect here. All of us attend functions at which announcements are made, but just because an announcement is made at an occasion, I do not need to go back the next day and check that the body did the job right. It is a matter for Údarás to follow its procedures. If the Deputy has specific allegations he should give me details and I will check them out....

Departmental Bodies. (5 Oct 2006)

Éamon Ó Cuív: Is the Deputy saying that somebody on the interview board was related to the successful applicant?
