Seanad: Order of Business. (28 Jun 2005)

Terry Leyden: I wish to express my thanks to Senator Norris for his generosity of spirit in supporting my Registration of Wills Bill 2005. Will the Leader accommodate the Second Reading of this Bill, which is No. 12 on today's Order Paper, in the early part of the autumn session? I thank her, the Government Whip, Senator Moylan, the Government spokesman on health and children, Senator Glynn, and all my...

Terry Leyden: I thank the Cathaoirleach and his able staff, including Deirdre Lane and Jodie Blake, the Bills Office and all those involved for their work. Seanad: Investment Funds, Companies and Miscellaneous Provisions Bill 2005 [Seanad Bill amended by Dáil]: Report and Final Stages. (28 Jun 2005)

Terry Leyden: I thank the Minister of State for bringing this Bill back to the Seanad. The fact he has examined and is including these amendments makes the Bill a thorough one. To his officials I say it is worthwhile to have the Bill as accurate as it can be. I know the Minister of State and his officials are anxious to make it 100% watertight. I commend him for returning the Bill to the House to do that.

Seanad: Investment Funds, Companies and Miscellaneous Provisions Bill 2005: Motion for Earlier Signature. (28 Jun 2005)

Terry Leyden: I thank the Minister of State for his conscientious approach to this complicated legislation. I thank his staff and senior officials and civil servants, some of whom I know from my previous experience in the Department of Industry and Commerce, for their input. It is an extremely technical Bill and fortunately the Minister of State is well qualified to bring it forward. He was also open to...

Seanad: Order of Business. (29 Jun 2005)

Terry Leyden: ——to a man who has done more for Croke Park than the Labour Party ever did.

Seanad: Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2005: Second Stage. (29 Jun 2005)

Terry Leyden: I welcome the Minster of State, Deputy Batt O'Keeffe, to the House. The Electoral (Amendment) Bill 2005 is important because it will decide the fates of many Members of the Oireachtas, particularly those in the Lower House, in the next general election. The people of County Leitrim have rebelled in light of certain concerns. As the last remaining Oireachtas Member for the Roscommon-South...

Terry Leyden: There are constituents of mine in the Visitors Gallery and it seems appropriate to reminisce in this way.
