So far we have contributed 2,700 Defence Forces personnel to the UN Disengagement Observer Force mission in the Golan Heights in the past ten years. Will the Minister of State outline the benefits to Ireland and its Defence Forces and to the region of that mission?

I would prefer us to be engaged in the UN mission, rather than in the EU battle groups. I ask the Minister of State to outline the benefits he believes we achieved from those ten years.
