- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Challenges Facing the Horse Sport Industry: Horse Sport Ireland (Resumed) (15 Nov 2023)
Paul Kehoe: When the organisation was going into the new format of DNA testing it has introduced through Weatherbys Ireland, would Mr. Duggan as CEO and other senior staff members not have thought of the implications and the time it was going to take to process new applications? I am sure that when his organisation was bringing in new processes, it knew there were going to be delays and teething...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Challenges Facing the Horse Sport Industry: Horse Sport Ireland (Resumed) (15 Nov 2023)
Paul Kehoe: Hold on. It should not be driven by anything. I am sure the witnesses have looked at projections, but they are going to introduce a whole new system. They have to look at what my projection is. They will spend significant amounts of money on this new system. It is out for tender at the moment. If I was in the private sector and was introducing a new way of doing something, I would say...

- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund Regulations 2023: Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (22 Nov 2023)
Paul Kehoe: I have only a small number of questions. I first want to welcome the Minister and his officials. This is a fund I very much support and welcome. There is a fantastic return for the Government’s investment into the industry. On the greyhound sector, I am aware that there was an issue a number of years ago about the closure of a number of greyhound tracks around the country and...
- Joint Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine: Horse and Greyhound Racing Fund Regulations 2023: Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (22 Nov 2023)
Paul Kehoe: I thank the Minister very much for that. In his statement on page 3, the Minister states that the total value of Irish foal exports sold at public auction in 2022 amounted to over €293 million. Last week Horse Sport Ireland appeared before the committee here regarding passports for foals and their sale. I do not believe Horse Sport Ireland falls under the Minister's responsibility....

The Minister rightly said that this realised €293 million in...
