- Ceisteanna - Questions (Resumed): Northern Ireland Issues (14 May 2013)
Micheál Martin: -----just as it does to those who were personally involved in violence in the North, including violence that led to unnecessary loss of life in too many cases. We need action on the Finucane case not only because of the issue itself and the fact that it forms part of a binding agreement, but because we should leave no cover for those who were involved and who have chosen to be selective...

Micheál Martin: The Government had promised in the programme for Government reform of the registered employment agreements, REAs. - Order of Business (14 May 2013)
Micheál Martin: My point is that in the programme for Government two and a half years ago, this big Bill was put up front, that is, the universal primary care Bill. Had the person responsible for putting that into the programme for Government had a bull's notion about what it involved in terms of detail, substance and complexity, he or she would not have put it in. We have been told in the past two weeks,...
- Order of Business (14 May 2013)
Micheál Martin: Clearly whoever put this into the programme for Government was not aware of any difficulties at the time. The Minister of State, Deputy White, has inherited this mess from the Minister for Health, Deputy Reilly. The former Minister of State at the Department of...

Micheál Martin: On a point of order, this flies in the face of what the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Deputy Pat Rabbitte, said last week when he suggested the sale of the harvesting rights would not go ahead. Deputy Emmet Stagg intervened on the Order of Business last week to inform the Taoiseach that the thing was not now going ahead.

- Leaders' Questions (15 May 2013)
Micheál Martin: There has been worldwide coverage and publicity given to the decision by the actress Angelina Jolie to have a bilateral mastectomy because she has a mutation in the BRCA1 gene. Her decision to go public is a very brave one and will undoubtedly save the lives of many women across the world. It has also stimulated debate here and elsewhere on the adequacy of DNA screening programmes. ...
- Leaders' Questions (15 May 2013)
Micheál Martin: The fundamental question is will the Government extend the screening programme and will the resources be made available to extend the surveillance programme, as recommended by HIQA? That is the first question on which I seek absolute clarity and confirmation. The establishment of a working group does not mean a great deal. It can mean something but it would have to be followed up by a...
