- Select Committee on Transport, Tourism and Sport: Estimates for Public Services 2018
Vote 31 - Transport, Tourism and Sport (Revised) (18 Apr 2018) Kevin O'Keeffe: Regarding the Minister's comments on our ports' capabilities post Brexit, should Brexit happen, is he aware that our ports' handling facilities are under severe pressure because of the fodder crisis? I have been made aware of many merchants trying to import feedstuffs, be they corn gluten feed or distillers grain. Due to excess demand, though, the ports are not in a position to handle the...
- Topical Issue Debate: Hospital Staff Recruitment (19 Apr 2018)
Kevin O'Keeffe: I thank the Minister of State, Deputy Catherine Byrne, for coming into the Chamber today but I must say I am disappointed that, again, the Minister of State with line responsibility, Deputy Jim Daly, did not see fit to be here. This is the second time for me to raise the issue here and although he is a Corkman I do not know where his loyalties lie at this stage. I spoke on the issue...
- Topical Issue Debate: Hospital Staff Recruitment (19 Apr 2018)
Kevin O'Keeffe: I thank the Minister of State for her reply. As I said previously, the response is glamorous but it does not solve the problem. The Minister of State has said that there has been a problem in Fermoy since September but the problem did not start then. The HSE would have been aware that a problem was going to arise well before September 2017. I do not want to be seen to be repeating myself....

- Other Questions: Road Network (24 Apr 2018)
Kevin O'Keeffe: I support my colleague, Deputy Troy. The Minister commented that more money is going into capital infrastructure. We welcome that, but there is no point in robbing Peter to pay Paul where the overall upgrading of our roads is concerned. The roads in east Cork are so damaged that it is as if a bomb was detonated. I have raised the issue with the Minister a few times. It is all fine...

- Questions on Promised Legislation (25 Apr 2018)
Kevin O'Keeffe: My question is for the Taoiseach or perhaps the Minister, Deputy Murphy. One of the pillars of the Rebuilding Ireland programme is to get new houses built.
