Charlie McConalogue: Since 2015, the Department has had one dog involved in the process of carrying out checks for illegal imports of food products at Dublin airport. The food detector dog is used in addition to manual checks and scanning equipment. The Department continuously reviews its various arrangements with regards to import control checks, of which the use of food detector dogs is one part.
